Over the years, I have loved getting 10,000+ people to move.
People who thought they could not dance, would not dance, or had given up. And then they did.
In academia, corporates, schools, NGOs. People in formals with ties, across abilities and experiences.
People who thought they could not dance, would not dance, or had given up.
And then they did.
With laughter, hesitation, awkwardness, courage, playfulness, release, freedom, joy, and so much life.
As an Odissi dancer and performer, dance has been my foundation: my anchor, my way of feeling and expressing.
But taking movement beyond performance spaces has been the most powerful part of my journey.
The joy of watching someone come alive in their body – there is nothing like it.
And I just want to keep going.
Today, I celebrate dance not just as an art form, but as something deeply human – something that belongs to all of us.
